CITY MISSION is a Gosple-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that focuses on human services and local community outreach. Our heart is to partner with local individuals, civic groups, churches, companies, and other organizations to serve Greater Waterbury and improve the lives of those experiencing poverty. It was founded in 2022 by local families and individuals who care deeply about our beloved City of Waterbury.

We believe the God loves everyone and cares about their needs. So our vision is to embody the Gospel and bring help, hope, and dignity to those who are living in impoverished conditions here in our community.

Currently, CITY MISSION operates a weekly Free Food Program, Affordable Alternative Eduction services, and Community Development classes for local residents.

• Our Free Food Program distributes groceries around Greater Waterbury to individuals and families in need. We also have monthly outreach events to distribute free reusable bags filled with pantry foods to local households, especially those with senior citizens experiencing adverse health ailments, disabilities, and financial hardship.

• City Mission Schools, which is our Affordable Education Program, is designed to impact the Greater Waterbury Area through alternative learning curriculums, smaller student-to-teacher ratios, increased collaboration with parents, and greatly reduced tuition costs. We currently provide education services for grades K - 8.

• Our new Community Development Program provides training to help residents learn important skill sets that will improve their quality of living. We provide classes and workshops, as well as a weekly Chapel service called ‘GATHER,’ which helps participants to receive much-needed guidance and encouragement.
